Manipur literally means “a jeweled land” is one of the eight sister states of the Northeastern India, a perfect place to engulf natural beauty at its best. This tiny Shangri-La with its cascading rapids, tripping rivers, carpet of flowers, exotic blooms and lazy lakes is righteously called as the 'Switzerland of the East'. The land is home to numerous tribes who are known for their age old traditions and rich culture.

Imphal, the
capital city of the state is encompassed by forested hills and is the most preferred destination for avid tourists. Few other places of interests in the state are Bishnupur, Chandel, Tamenglong and Ukhrul which are famous for their caves, lakes, and peaks.
